How is ArtsNow related to ArtsNow?
ArtsNow is the non-profit organization (501 C-3) under which ArtsNow operates. ArtsNow is professional development and resources for educators and is a collaborative effort led by four Primary Collaborators (Atlanta Ballet Centre for Dance Education, Department of Theater Studies at Emory University, Georgia State University School of Music, and Savannah College of Art and Design, Atlanta).
What is ArtsNow?
This initiative seeks to build the capacity of all teachers to utilize creativity, authentic arts integration and sequential arts education in daily lesson plans to help students succeed academically, socially, and artistically.
How many educators have participated in ArtsNow professional development?
To date, 633 educators from 14 school systems have participated in ArtsNow professional development.

To be an ArtsNow school, do we have to implement the ArtsNow Model?
No, as each school is a microcosm, implementation of strategies acquired in ArtsNow workshops will vary according to the individual work site. Implementation of one or more strategies is necessary to be a considered an ArtsNow school.
Do you still have ArtsNow Model Schools?
No, we offer the model to schools that need a framework as each component is important and still recognize within our ArtsNow strategies. However, we encourage each school to implement the “pieces” as strategies to begin using creativity and the arts more consistently across all disciplines.

Do I have to send a “team” to the Foundational Training?
Yes, teams must consist of an arts specialist (visual arts, music, dance, theatre or physical education), a non-arts educator, and a member of the administrative team. These teams are essential for participation as they are necessary to promote “buy-in” across school communities as participants return to train their respective colleagues.
Do you offer professional development other than the Foundational Training?

Do I earn PLU Credit for attending the Foundational Training?
Yes, the Georgia Department of Education provides eligibility for 2 Professional Learning Units to participants who attend the training, but attendance is mandatory for the full 2 ½ days of the workshop.

What is an Ignite Curriculum Guide?
Ignite Curriculum Guides provide differentiated ideas and activities for educators that are aligned to a sampling of standards. The guides do not necessarily imply mastery of standards, but are intended to inspire and equip educators.
