"Here's How I Communicate With Others!"

These paintings are a part of an initiative called “A Community in Action: Making the Arts a Priority in Children’s Lives.” The artwork will be exhibited on the E-Concourse at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport from April 1st– June 30th, 2004. In addition, Mayor Shirley Franklin unveiled these paintings in a citywide celebration of the student artists, corporate sponsors and the ArtsNow work in Atlanta schools on April 20, 2004.

Comcast doubled the amount of money the students raised to buy art supplies for their teachers on the day of the delivery! Thanks to their tremendous generosity, every teacher at Rainbow Elementary received new art supplies for their classrooms, including marker, crayon and colored pencil sets, pottery supplies, candle-making kits, drawing paper, craft supplies, watercolor sets, acrylic paints, brush sets, yarn, sewing supplies and much more!

“How I Will Communicate With Others In The Future”

Hamilton E. Holmes Elementary

March 31, 2005

Bill Connors, CEO of Comcast commissioned twenty students from Hamilton Holmes Elementary School to create an artwork to the theme of “How I Will Communicate With Others In The Future,” as part of ArtsNow’s Community in Action Initiative. Finally, the students delivered their artwork on March 31, 2005 to the Comcast management team. Each student made a brief presentation and received recognition for their generosity of spirit and outstanding creativity in art.

Through this project the students returned $500 to purchase art supplies for their classroom teachers at Hamilton Holmes Elementary School.

"Here's How I Communicate With Others!"

Gene Shatlock, Senior Vice President of Southern Division of the Atlanta Region of Comcast commissioned nine students from Hamilton E. Holmes Elementary School to create an artwork to the theme of “Here's How I Communicate With Others In The Future", as part of ArtsNow’s Community in Action Initiative. Finally, the students delivered their artwork on January 26, 2006 to the executives of Comcast Cable. Each student made a brief presentation and received recognition for their generosity of spirit and outstanding creativity in art.

Through this project the students returned $250 to purchase art supplies for their classroom teachers at Hamilton E. Holmes Elementary School.

Gene Shatlock, Senior Vice President of Southern Division of the Atlanta Region of Comcast commissioned twenty students from Clifton Elementary School to create an artwork to the theme of “How I Use Technology To Communicate", as part of ArtsNow’s Community in Action Initiative. Finally, the students will deliver their artwork on May 7, 2009 to the executives of Comcast Cable. Each student will make a brief presentation and received recognition for their generosity of spirit and outstanding creativity in art.

Through this project the students will return $500 to purchase art supplies for their classroom teachers at Clifton Elementary School.
